How to Stretch Shoes
There are actually three methods to stretching your shoes, with the first two being to purchase shoe stretching supplies or to have it professionally done. These are a bit more expensive, but recommended if the natural method does not work to stretch your shoes. With that being said, here is the natural, easy, and more affordable way on how to stretch shoes:
- Freeze a plastic bag with water in your shoes. Because the bag will expand as the water turns to ice, your shoes will start to stretch as well. Make sure that the bag is free of leaks and won’t break! You can use more than one bag if needed.
- Freeze it for up to 8 hours, or up until the water is solid ice.
- Remove the bags of ice and see your shoes are now stretched. If it still is too small, repeat the process again until you are satisfied.
- Place shoe trees and silica gel packets in your shoes if you aren’t using them in order to prevent them from shrinking again, as well as preserving the quality of the material.
